Pipers has exported expertise to the Middle East for the past 30 years. Having worked on many of the major developments in the region, Pipers were engaged by the Abu Dhabi Government to communicate their Vision 2030 drawing on their experience in promoting cities, in particular London. Pipers have worked with the Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council for the past 3 years, delivering a number different services to communicate their ambitions.

The Capital District is a key initiative of Plan Abu Dhabi 2030, and will become the symbolic and administrative centre for government, education and information-based institutions for the UAE. Pipers produced models, interactive presentations, as well as working on exhibitions in Abu Dhabi and San Diego and a permanent in UPC's HQ.

Pipers built a 1:2000 model of Abu Dhabi, which was launched as Cityscape Abu Dhabi 2010. The model includes detailed representation of the major development opportunities in the Emirate and covers an area of 27m x 17m

The model remained the centre piece of UPC's stand at Cityscape Abu Dhabi 2011, but was integrated into a fully interactive presentation with information overlaid with a sophisticated overhead projection system whilst synchronised with a high-definition cinema screen. Controlled by a wireless tablet, the presentation allowed the user to focus on specific developments or to run a 10 minute show including film.

Interactive Kiosks - Working closely with the entire planning team, Pipers produced a system of interactive kiosks outlining the planning framework for Abu Dhabi. Through intuitive design, information on policies for transportation, housing, health, environment, culture and education were made easily accessible.

Web Application - Pipers have subsequently converted the interactive kiosks into a web application so that it can be downloaded and viewed remotely, and therefore communicated to a wider audience.
